Arrows Academy exists to train and equip the next generation of ministers of the Gospel, while coming alongside families as they faithfully raise their arrows to stand firm in truth, walk boldly in faith, and impact the world for Christ.

Handwriting, Spelling, & Reading | Kindergarten–2nd Grade

Our once-a-week Language Arts program for Kindergarten–2nd Grade builds confident readers and writers in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.

Students develop strong phonics and decoding skills through Explode The Code, gaining mastery in letter sounds, blending, spelling patterns, and early reading comprehension. Handwriting and written expression are strengthened using Learning Without Tears (Handwriting Without Tears), focusing on proper letter formation, spacing, and sentence writing.

Each class day includes engaging Story Time and focused Reading Labs to build fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and a genuine love for books.

Astronomy | Kindergarten–2nd Grade

Our Astronomy class invites students to explore the wonders of God’s universe through engaging, age-appropriate lessons using Apologia Exploring Creation with Astronomy.

Each class day includes interactive teaching from the workbook, hands-on projects, creative activities, and simple experiments that help students understand the sun, moon, planets, stars, and God’s magnificent design of space. Lessons are designed to make big concepts exciting, visual, and easy to understand.

Student workbooks are required and must be purchased for each child.
Families who wish to continue learning at home are welcome to purchase the companion textbook, but it is not required for participation in class.

Countries, Cultures & Missionary Tales | Kindergarten–2nd Grade

In this engaging and faith-building class, students explore the inspiring stories of ordinary people of God who dedicated their lives to loving and serving Jesus, spreading the Gospel, and advancing God’s Kingdom.

Students are introduced to remarkable Christian heroes and missionaries, examining their lives, their faith, and the lasting impact of their ministry in the countries they served. Alongside each missionary’s story, children develop a deeper understanding of the connected country and culture.

Studies include:

• History and traditions
• Food and clothing
• Arts and daily life
• Notable landmarks

Through hands-on learning experiences, creative projects, and age-appropriate student presentations, children actively engage with each country and story in meaningful and memorable ways. These interactive elements help students see how faith and culture intersect around the world while building confidence and communication skills.

Writing & Spelling | 3rd–5th Grade

Our 3rd–5th Grade Language Arts class builds strong writers and confident communicators in a Christ-centered environment.

Writing instruction is taught through Essentials in Writing, helping students develop grammar skills, clear sentence structure, organized paragraphs, and multi-paragraph compositions. Students learn to write descriptively, organize their ideas, and edit their work with confidence.

Spelling instruction is strengthened through Megawords Spelling, reinforcing word patterns, vocabulary development, and spelling rules that support strong writing accuracy and language mastery.

Students learn about geography, culture, important landmarks, indigenous animals, unique landscapes, and fascinating facts about each nation. They also gain awareness of what Christians in those regions may be facing, including challenges and opportunities to live out their faith.

Each country includes hands-on projects and age-appropriate student presentations to build understanding and confidence. Throughout the year, interactive culture days allow students to sample traditional foods, showcase projects, and share their learning in meaningful ways.

8th - 9th Grade

Writing & Literature (Level 8 – High School Credit Eligible)

Curriculum: Essentials in Writing Level 8 & Essentials in Literature

This integrated Language Arts course strengthens composition, grammar, and literary analysis skills while preparing students for high school–level English. Using Essentials in Writing Level 8 and Essentials in Literature, students develop clear, structured writing and thoughtful literary interpretation within a biblical worldview.

The writing component focuses on grammar mastery, paragraph and essay structure, persuasive and narrative writing, and introductory research skills. Students practice outlining, drafting, revising, and editing to build clarity and academic voice.

The literature component develops skills in analyzing fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Students study literary elements such as theme, character, plot, figurative language, and author’s purpose while learning to annotate texts and respond through written analysis and discussion.

Coursework includes weekly reading and writing assignments, literary responses, grammar reinforcement, and assessments. Students who demonstrate consistent mastery may qualify for 1 High School English credit upon successful completion.

High School Civics

Curriculum: Master Books – American Government

This full-year high school Civics course provides students with a comprehensive study of American government from a biblical worldview. Using the Master Books curriculum, students examine the historical foundations, structure, and function of the United States government while developing an understanding of civic responsibility and citizenship.

Course topics include the Constitution, Bill of Rights, the three branches of government, federalism, state and local government, the electoral process, public policy, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Students will analyze primary source documents, evaluate current events, and explore the moral and biblical principles that influenced the founding of the nation.

Instruction includes reading assignments, guided notes, written responses, projects, discussions, quizzes, and tests. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, research skills, and the ability to articulate informed positions with clarity and respect.

This course prepares students to engage thoughtfully in civic life while recognizing their role as Christians called to influence culture with truth and integrity.

Health

Curriculum: Apologia Health & Nutrition (High School)

High School Health at Arrows Academy provides a comprehensive study of physical health, nutrition, and personal wellness through a biblical worldview. Using Apologia’s Health & Nutrition curriculum, students examine the design of the human body and learn practical principles for lifelong health and stewardship.

Topics include nutrition, body systems, exercise science, mental and emotional health, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices. Students explore how biblical principles apply to caring for the body as God’s creation and develop informed decision-making skills regarding diet, habits, and overall wellness.

Coursework includes guided reading, written responses, projects, practical applications, and assessments. Emphasis is placed on personal responsibility, scientific understanding, and developing habits that support long-term physical and spiritual well-being.

Be & Become | Morning Discipleship

Be & Become is our morning gathering where students worship, pray, and grow in God’s Word. This intentional discipleship time teaches them to be with Jesus and become more like Him, building strong faith foundations and Christlike character.

Activate Missions

Activate Missions K-8 Elementary Ministry & Outreach Class

Activate Missions is a hands-on class designed to help students become the hands and feet of Jesus in their everyday lives. This course moves beyond learning about faith and focuses on living it out with courage, compassion, and purpose.

Students will explore what Scripture teaches about loving others, serving the community, and partnering with the Holy Spirit. Through creative and practical activations—such as prophetic art, praying and encouraging one another, service projects, and age-appropriate outreach opportunities—students will practice turning biblical truth into action.

We believe there is no “junior Holy Spirit.” Even at a young age, children can hear God, love boldly, and impact the world around them. This class provides a safe, guided environment where students can grow in confidence while learning how to minister with humility and wisdom.

Throughout the class, students will:

  • Learn biblical foundations for serving others
  • Practice praying for and encouraging one another
  • Participate in creative ministry expressions
  • Engage in community-focused service projects
  • Grow in boldness, empathy, and Christ-like leadership

Activate Missions equips students to live out their faith beyond the classroom—raising up young disciples who don’t just know about Jesus, but actively reflect Him in their homes, church, and community.

Activate Missions ½ Credit – Ministry & Leadership (High School Elective)

Activate Missions is a Christ-centered ministry and leadership course designed to equip students to actively live out their faith in practical and transformative ways. This course challenges students to move beyond passive belief and step into their calling as ambassadors for Christ within their school, church, and local community.

Students will study the biblical foundations of evangelism, compassion, servant leadership, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Through guided activations, reflective discussions, and supervised outreach opportunities, students will develop confidence in sharing their faith while ministering with humility, wisdom, and integrity.

Practical components may include prophetic art, peer encouragement and prayer, service-based projects, community outreach initiatives, and leadership development exercises. Students will also learn discernment, appropriate boundaries, and accountability in ministry settings.

We believe there is no “junior Holy Spirit.” Students are encouraged to understand their identity in Christ and steward spiritual gifts with maturity and biblical grounding.

Worship Arts

Worship Arts K – 8

The primary purpose of Worship Arts is to fulfill our calling to glorify God by expressing worship through movement and storytelling. This class provides students with a biblical foundation for expressive worship while developing practical skills in flagging, drama, and choreographed movement.

Students will explore how worship engages both the heart and the body, learning that movement can be a powerful form of prayer, praise, and ministry. Through creative expression, they will grow in confidence, teamwork, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.

Worship Arts cultivates creativity with purpose—creating space for God’s presence while equipping students to minister to others in a way that is joyful, reverent, and Christ-centered.

Worship Arts ½ Credit – Fine Arts (High School)

Worship Arts is a Christ-centered Fine Arts course designed to equip students to glorify God through expressive worship using movement, drama, and creative storytelling. This course provides both biblical foundations and practical training in worship expression, helping students understand worship as ministry—not performance.

Students will study the theology of worship throughout Scripture, exploring themes such as praise, reverence, obedience, and the role of artistic expression in the life of the Church. Practical components include training in flagging, choreographed worship movement, dramatic presentation, and collaborative creative projects.

Throughout the course, students will:

  • Develop technical skills in expressive worship movement and staging
  • Study biblical foundations for worship and creative arts
  • Participate in group choreography and dramatic presentations
  • Reflect on the spiritual purpose of worship as ministry
  • Build confidence, stage presence, and teamwork skills

Students may participate in live presentations or ministry opportunities as part of their applied learning experience.

The goal of Worship Arts is to cultivate disciplined creativity with spiritual maturity—raising up young leaders who minister with excellence, humility, and a heart fully devoted to Christ.

Strong Body - Strong Character

Strong Body – Strong Character K -8 Physical Education

Strong Body – Strong Character is a fun and engaging physical education class designed to help students grow strong on the inside and outside! This class combines movement, exercise, and team activities with meaningful character lessons rooted in biblical truth.

Students will participate in age-appropriate fitness games, obstacle courses, stretching, strength-building activities, and teamwork challenges that improve coordination, balance, endurance, and flexibility. Each class encourages joyful movement while teaching the importance of caring for the bodies God has given us.

Alongside physical activity, students will learn character traits such as perseverance, self-control, kindness, courage, and teamwork. Through short devotionals and encouragement, children will discover that discipline in our bodies helps build discipline in our hearts.

Throughout the class, students will:

  • Build strength, coordination, and healthy habits
  • Practice teamwork and good sportsmanship
  • Learn to set simple fitness goals
  • Grow in confidence and perseverance
  • Understand that honoring God includes caring for our bodies

Strong Body – Strong Character helps students develop healthy habits early while nurturing Christ-like character in a joyful, encouraging environment.

Strong Body – Strong Character ½ Credit – P.E  (High School)

Strong Body – Strong Character is a Christ-centered Physical Education course focused on building strength from the inside out. This class combines physical fitness training with intentional character development, helping students grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Students will participate in structured fitness activities designed to improve endurance, strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall health. Workouts may include cardiovascular training, bodyweight exercises, team challenges, mobility work, and functional strength development.

In addition to physical training, students will explore biblical principles related to discipline, perseverance, self-control, leadership, and stewardship of the body. Emphasis is placed on integrity, teamwork, goal-setting, and developing a growth mindset.

Throughout the course, students will:

  • Improve cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength
  • Develop healthy fitness habits and personal wellness goals
  • Practice teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship
  • Study biblical principles of discipline and stewardship
  • Reflect on character growth alongside physical progress

This course equips students to honor God through healthy living while cultivating resilience, confidence, and strong moral character.

Foundations of Worship

Foundations of Worship Elementary Worship Class

Worship Through Song & Sound is a joyful, Christ-centered class designed to teach children how to worship God through music, singing, and simple instruments. Students will discover that worship is more than just singing songs—it is a way to express love, gratitude, and praise to the Lord.

In this class, children will learn foundational worship songs, explore rhythm and melody, and practice using age-appropriate instruments such as rhythm sticks, tambourines, hand drums, and simple percussion. Students will also be introduced to basic musical concepts like tempo, dynamics, listening skills, and teamwork in group worship.

Each class includes a short devotional that teaches the biblical foundation of worship—helping children understand why we sing, clap, lift our hands, and make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

Throughout the year, students will:

  • Learn and lead simple worship songs
  • Practice rhythm and musical coordination
  • Play basic percussion and classroom instruments
  • Grow in confidence and joyful expression
  • Understand worship as an offering of the heart

This class creates a safe and encouraging environment where children can freely express their love for Jesus while developing musical skills and a heart of praise.

Foundations of Worship Ministry ½ Credit – Fine Arts / Ministry Leadership

(High School Elective)

Foundations of Worship Ministry is a Christ-centered elective designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of worship within a church or ministry setting. This course explores both the spiritual and practical elements of corporate worship, preparing students to serve with excellence, humility, and biblical understanding.

Students will study the theology of worship throughout Scripture while also learning the functional components of a worship service. Topics include worship leadership, vocal and instrumental development, team dynamics, service flow, sound and media basics, stage presence, spiritual preparation, and servant-hearted leadership.

This course emphasizes that worship is not performance but ministry. Students will learn how to cultivate personal devotion, lead others authentically, and create an atmosphere that points hearts toward Christ.

Practical components may include:

  • Vocal and instrumental training
  • Song selection and set-list building
  • Understanding keys, transitions, and flow
  • Team communication and rehearsal structure
  • Introduction to sound, media, and production roles
  • Biblical foundations of praise, reverence, and Spirit-led worship

Throughout the course, students will:

  • Develop confidence in public worship leadership
  • Understand the structure and purpose of corporate worship
  • Grow in spiritual maturity and servant leadership
  • Participate in team-led worship experiences
  • Reflect on personal growth through journaling and discussion

The goal of Foundations of Worship Ministry is to raise up spiritually grounded, skilled young leaders who understand both the heart and the structure of worship—prepared to serve faithfully in church, missions, and ministry settings.

Raising Arrows (Mom’s Group)

Join Ms. Lisa Poirier in an optional class designed for homeschool mothers, offering biblical encouragement and practical tools for discipling, while raising children with purpose and vision. Glean from a mother who’s been there, done that, and has a testimony to share! Each class is rooted in the word, with dedicated time for prayer, personal application, and meaningful connection with other moms. It’s a supportive space for spiritual growth, encouragement, and building lasting relationships.
